JOPRAD launches an Open Consultation for the Programme Document

The current European Commission policy in implementation of the Euratom programme, complementing the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme in the field of management of nuclear waste including final geological disposal, is to move from supporting individual research and training projects to implementing a comprehensive Joint Programme co-funded by the Member States' and the EC. Depending on the readiness of Member States, a call for a first Joint Programme could be launched as part of the Euratom Work Programme 2018 or 2019-2020.

As part of this process the JOPRAD consortium has developed a Programme Document which incorporates the priorities of common interest between WMOs, TSOs and REs and forms the scientific and technical basis of a future Joint Programme on Radioactive Waste Management and Disposal.

Open Consultation of the JOPRAD Programme Document

We would appreciate your input into this process by inviting you to comment on the Programme Document during the open consultation that covers the period from 13th March to 30th April 2017.

In particular, we would like feedback on the Strategic Research Agenda and its suitability to support future European Joint Programming, in particular we want to know if you feel the document omits any key areas for future waste management and disposal RD&D.

If you could please direct any comments you may have on the Programme Document to ellie.scourse(at)mcmenvironmental.co.uk
